      Hi folks

I just registered a new domains boring magazine but I forgot to check the spam score. Recently, I checked and it showing spam score of 46% without any backlinks. You can check the domain age is 30 Days only till now.

Need your recommendations on how can I reduce it and on which basis Moz showing it as spams?

        Hi,

A 46% spam score can be improved by focusing on high-quality content and avoiding over-optimization. Moz looks at factors like domain age, content, and potential spam signals.

For my Kobalt Tools website, I improved the score by creating good content and building quality backlinks gradually. That should help reduce the score over time.

        Good luck!

Moz's Spam Score may appear for your new domain due to several factors, including low-quality backlinks, similarities to known spammy domains, or the overall health of the website. New domains can be flagged while they establish authority. Focus on building quality content and acquiring reputable backlinks to improve your score over time, like I do the same with my new domain called brand in marketing.

Moz's Spam Score for your new domain may be influenced by several factors, including:

Domain history: If the domain was previously associated with spammy content or behaviors.
Link profile: Low-quality backlinks or links from spammy sites can affect your score.
Content quality: If the site content appears low-quality or poorly optimized.
To improve your Spam Score, consider building a high-quality backlink profile, ensuring your content meets best practices, and regularly monitoring your domain's health. If you need further assistance, feel free to ask!

Domain History: If the domain was previously registered and had a bad reputation or was used for spammy activities, Moz might carry over that history, flagging it with a higher Spam Score.

Poor Quality Backlinks: If low-quality or spammy websites are linking to your new domain, even unintentionally, Moz can detect this and assign a higher Spam Score. It's important to check your backlink profile using tools like Moz or Google Search Console.

so, has the domain name been owned before? your web designers, should be able to tell you if the domain name has been owned before, if so, make sure that the previous owners, have not completed low quality SEO as this could effect your SEO.

hey @ImranZahidAli It looks like your new domain has a high spam score right now, which can be pretty common for new sites. This usually happens because new domains don't have a lot of history, and they might have picked up some low-quality links or issues with content and SEO. To fix this, start by checking if there are any bad backlinks and disavow them if necessary. Focus on building high-quality, relevant links and make sure your content is unique and valuable. Improve your site’s SEO by optimizing title tags, meta descriptions, and headers, and ensure your site is user-friendly. Also, verify your domain’s history and make sure your registration details are clear and from a reputable registrar. Avoid any spammy SEO tactics, and engage with your audience through quality content and interactions. Regularly monitor your spam score to keep track of improvements. It may take some time, but with these steps, you should see a decrease in your spam score and a boost in your site’s reputation.

Great question! Moz's Spam Score can be a bit puzzling when it appears on a new domain. Often, this happens because Moz's algorithms assess various factors based on the link profile and overall website metrics. For new domains, even if your site is brand new, Moz might flag it due to similarities in link patterns or domain characteristics that resemble spammy sites

Unsolved Spam Score Blank - Looking For Feasible Solution

spam score site evaluate link building link explorer

                          Hi,
There is a question in my website. When I'm searching the number of spam score of my site, it shows "--".
In the official article it shows that the reason of "--" happens is that our site has not been evaluated by Moz. But there aren't any ways of solutions, seems that we can only wait - not knowing how long - for being evaluated.
Is there any way that I can get my site evaluated by Moz, and the spam score of my website can be displayed as an exact number?
                          Thanks for answering in advance!

To buy or not to buy? Domains with history..

I am involved in setting up a new business which as of yet is to decide on a brand name.. As the availability of domain name in local tld (and ideally .com) is of so much importance, the brand naming process is inextricably linked to this. Therefore, upon finding a suggested name was available to register (without premium) there was a degree of satisfaction. However on looking at archive.org it was discovered that the .co.uk had been a sex/marital aid store back in 2004 and more recently in 2014 a travel blog / affiliate. Q is; Is the past history of what is a site with possible black hat links a reason to avoid registration? Or, does time cure all? And, is there a way in which domain health can be reliably confirmed? Thanks in advance for your input..

New un-natural links to my website that i didnt create.. and lots of them!

Hi There In the last few months my search organic traffic has gone down and i am looking into links to my website through webmaster tools. It looks like there is some sort of automated robot that is building new links to my website at a rate of 5 per week!  All are spammy, directory links.  It looks like this has been going  on for a few months now. I  have no idea how to find and stop this.  But i have a feeling this might explain why my traffic is down. ALSO non of these links are in MOZ Open site explorer or Majestic SEO.. they are just showing as just discovered in webmaster tools.  I am assuming that means its pretty accurate ?! ALL help is appreciated! Thanks! Paula

                          Dump Penguin Hit Domain

Just wanting to get some feedback from others dealing with Penguin hits on client's websites. We've got one particularly client that has been hit badly because of a high proportion of link toxicity. After running the Cemper Detox Tool we found that only about 25 links are healthy. We're actually thinking of dumping the domain and moving the website to a new domain and starting again with link building (manually grabbing as many of the existing healthy links as possible on the way). Has anyone out there used this strategy? What do you think of the potential of the Sandbox of the new site vs. the Penguin hit on the old site. Do you think the 'drag' of Penguin is higher than the 'drag' of the Sandbox on rankings? Thanks guys, look forward to your insight!

Redirecting old domains for SEO ranking?

It's been a while since I read anything seriously out of the box on SEO but I thought I would see what others thought of the bold assertions made in this article. Most of it revolves around buying expired domains and using a 301 to point them, and their juice, to new sites. This guy makes a living doing this so he has to know a bit more than the average Joe but I'm wondering where the other shoe is and when it drops.
