What is the importance of DA for traffic when launching a website?

I am working on a new content website. Before I decide of the name and buy the domain name, I wonder if it's still worth buying an expired domain name with high(ish) DA instead of starting from scratch.
Any opinion?

DA has nothing to do with the ranking of any website directly. Google does not follow any kind of matrics called DA, PA, DR, UR, etc, etc.
All these metrics are introduced by SEO Tools like MOZ, AHREFS, etc. Google is more focused on E-E-A-T nowadays.So try to focus on EEAT more than DA, and PA things.
One more thing, if you are buying an expired domain then it is always necessary to check the previous history of the domain. Either it was used for any kind of PBN, Gambling websites, or Guest Posts websites. The history should be clean. You also need to check the backlink profile of the expired domain.
Check the Anchor Text very carefully when you are buying an expired domain.

You can buy expired to get backlinks to a blog site and then use blog to do backlinks to your main site, it's a lot of work but worth it.

@solenneginx Hi, This Aamit Saini It is good point to purchase expired domain instead of new one. Expired domain already have some backlinks, on this point it is a good move, but if you purchased new one that will be better, because you can select it as per your niche which will suit your blog and in the last it will be as per your choice.

Google not listing website correctly
have a domain that was unused for a while and displayed the "parked by Gandi" domain message. Recently, I decided to set up a fully working website on that domain, but I'm struggling to get it to rank correctly on Google. Google isn't updating the http://domain.com to the correct https://www.domain.com, and I have tried everything. The http://domain.com redirects to https://www.domain.com if you click on it. I managed to get the correct version, https://www.domain.com, to show up, but after a couple of days, it reverted to the old version and has stayed that way. This has been going on for a few weeks now. Additionally, I had an old version of the site using .com, and I forwarded that to the .co.uk, but the old .com will not be removed from Google. it was just one page without much content. At the moment, Google's search results look very messy and out of date. I have submitted the URL in the Google Search Console using the URL inspection tool and requested indexing and reindexing. I have also submitted sitemaps, but nothing is really working. Any ideas?

Understanding Redirects and Canonical Tags in SEO: A Complex Case

but if any1 of you guys understand this chaos and what was the issue here, i'd appreciate if you try to explain it to me. I had a page "Linkaufbau" on my website at https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau. In the SERPs, when https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau is shown, my new, updated snippet is displayed. When /linkaufbau.html is shown, it displays the old, deleted page that had already disappeared from the index. I have now removed the canonical tag. After opening a site here, we created a post containing a backlink and discovered a company with a top exposure. After opening the site in the same way, I created a post that included a backlink, but after a few days my account was suspended. By any chance, are these sites where you have to pay to generate backlinks? Of course, each site has a different policy, but my account is suspended every time.

Static content pages ranking dropping all the time
Hello all. I have been working three months in my current job in the hotel industry. I have been publishing a lot of content to our website (mainly articles), which in general have been ranking well and really boosted our website traffic. The problem that I am facing, though, is the fact that our static pages' rankings are basically constantly dropping. Especially one of our main pages, which is this hotel page. I haven't been doing any real changes to the content, but the ranking (with keywords "hotelli helsinki" [Hotel in Helsinki in Finnish]) has plummeted from 13th position all the way down to 19th... What has been happening during these last three months is that we did change to a new domain and we have done all the redirections and also informed Google about this change through search console. I have also done some minor changes to the on-page content, such as changing the meta titles and descriptions as well as the page title and some of the text content to more natural ones instead of clumsy SEO texts and optimizing the images. This hasn't helped at all though and the rankings seem to steadily drop all the time. What would YOU do with this page? Maybe add more text content to the page to be more informative? All tips would be highly appreciated.

High Rank and Traffic of low DA and Backlinks
Hi guys, is a pleasure being a part of this community, hope in learning a lot with you guys, i just started a year learning about SEO and it been a big journey. I was looking at some competition of some websites that i been optmizing, and i found a website that called my attention and i cant figure out whats going on, it haves huge traffic but in terms of technicall SEO is really week, and not just this but also in terms of DA and backlinks (most of them spammy - 20 backlinks), the domain in question is bhnews.com.br I notice that doesnt have any social media, not analytics, etc. The only thing that i notice is that there is a website or a company called "BH news" (televesion), but its not related with it, since the type of information that bhnews.com.br presents is "lottery" results. So this kind of situation confuses me a lot, because is a lot of hard work in optmizing a website to rank in google, and than i come a across with this type of website with 20 backlinks (most of anchor or name of domain), and than haves like 2M visits per month and ranks for keywords related with the this type of sites of lottery. Can someone tell me if there is some kind of black seo, or something that is making this rank so high? regards

Website penalized never again be the same
In February 2015 I received google email that had been penalized Superficial content with little or no added value. I resolved the situation with Google and the site was reconsidered two months later. The problem happens that since I had to drop the site never again be the same, since the site has been penalized never again be the same, now owned only 10% of visits and since then has not shown more growth. I'm deciding to leave the site for no more hopes and all who have had the same problem told me to forget about and working with new. What do you think? Give up the site and get a new one? For traffic sent by the search engines, how much personalization/customization is allowed on a page if any?
If I want to better target my audience so I would like to be able to address the exact query string coming from the search engine. I'd also like to add relevant sections to the site based in the geo area they live in. Can I customize a small portion of the page to fit my visitors search query and geo area per the IP address? How much can I change a web page to better fit a user and still be within the search engine's guidelines?

Thinking of redirecting *all* mobile traffic to another site (via an advertiser) - safe to do?
Hi, I am thinking of redirecting all mobile (iphone, cell phone, etc) to an advertiser (so completely different content than my site). Is there any risk of getting banned from google (etc) for doing this? (this is for an adult site)
