Discovery
What’s covered?
In this guide, you’ll learn more about the Discovery section in the Social section of Moz Local.
Getting started with Discovery
Looking for content to share with your audience? Consider adding an RSS feed to your Discovery section. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, which allows for updates and alerts from around the internet to be efficiently collected, structured, and refreshed in real-time.
To get started:
Navigate to the location you'd like to work with.
Click Social and then Discovery.
Select the pencil icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen to get to the location details.
In the location details, click the Custom Fields tab and on the RSS Feed URL row
Paste the RSS feed link from the site you'd like to add to your Discovery feed.
Once you have filled in this row, click Save.
Allow for at least 24 hours for the platform to populate your new RSS Feed content. Once populated, you will find your new RSS feed subscription in the Location Feeds section.
In order to create an auto RSS subscription that will auto-fill your social media pages with links to blog articles, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Group or Location level scheduler.
Identify the symbol in the top right-hand corner of the calendar
Click Add a New Subscription
Title your subscription
Enter your feed URL
Check Auto-post and select the time you want you post to be published
Select the networks you want the post to be published to
If you are an Admin, you will be able to bypass approvals
If the blog is published after your selected time, the post will be scheduled for the next day at the intended time.
Yes! Amazing! Yes! It was what I needed. Meh. It wasn’t really what I was looking for. No, it wasn’t helpful at all.
Thanks for the feedback.
