Smart Groups
Moz Local Smart Groups help businesses manage multiple locations or users with the appropriate access within Moz Local monitor updates, provide suggested content for posting, get reports in bulk in real-time, and more.
Smart Groups can be created based on specific filter criteria (Example: “State”) OR to create groups individually based on filter criteria (Example: “Name” = Walmart Garden Center, “State” = CA). This allows for quick and efficient Group creation that saves time and resources for internal teams while ensuring accurate and up-to-date grouping of customer locations.
Moz Local Smart Group versus Manual Group Location
Moz Local Administrator users, or users with the appropriate access, can also manually create groups of locations. Consider the below ideas for groups: Group together locations within specific geographic regions Group together locations that are managed by specific/a subset of platform users Group together locations that share common attributes/characteristics Moz Local allows its users to manually create groups to streamline workflows, yet setting up groups with 100s or 1000s of locations is very time-consuming and laborious. You need to keep in mind that manually created groups require ongoing manual maintenance and this means that whenever users need to update, change details, or add newly added locations, all of this needs to be made manually to ensure accurate and up-to-date grouping of locations. Moz LocalSmart Groups streamlines the process of organizing locations by allowing bulk or individual group creation based on specific criteria like "State" or "Name." Automatic updates keep groups accurate without manual intervention, saving time and resources for teams. This tool efficiently manages customer locations, optimizing workflows within the organization.
Moz Local Smart Groups help you manage and monitor multiple locations easily. This feature was created to make all account owners with multiple locations manage and create a filtered group through its categories.
Here are some steps to create Moz Local Smart Filters:
If you are managing multiple locations, you should have access to the “Account” level.
From the “Account” level click the “Groups” tab next, on the right side of the screen click on +Add Group,
Select Create smart Group by Filter
Once the Create Group by Filter box pops out, start by adding a Group name then find a field of filter you want to create, either address, state, country, etc… Note: When searching for a State, Moz Local considers both the full/long version of the text and its abbreviation, regardless of the user's input: If you type "CA," we will provide results for "California." If you type "California," we will also include results for "CA."
Editing Smart Groups by Filter
Since Smart Groups update automatically and are defined based on specific criteria, you can NOT manually add or remove locations from Smart Groups. There is limited information that an “Administrator” or other users with the appropriate access can edit.
From “Account” level, click the “Groups” tab, then click on “Details”
The Edit Group Details box will pop out and three tabs will show; Group Details, Warning Settings, and Features
You can now edit the Group Name, preferred networks, and override account level settings (if you have proper access), then click Save
Deleting Smart Groups By Filter
Navigate to “Account” level, then click the “Groups” tab
Find the Smart Group By Filter that you created and click the Delete (trash) icon
Once you click Delete, you will see a pop-up where you will need to confirm the action You will be notified that this action cannot be undone and all of the data will be lost/deleted
You will have to manually type “DELETE”
You will also have to click the “Confirm” button to finalize the deletion
