Sentiment Analysis
Maintaining a positive online reputation requires proactive participation from brands and businesses. The Sentiment Analysis tool enables you to analyze review networks and provide concrete feedback on emerging trends.
You can access Sentiment Analysis at the Account, Group, or Location level, under the Reviews dropdown. Click Sentiment to analyze the sentiment trends, top keywords, and to gain a deeper understanding of your top mentioned terms.
At the top of the screen you can filter for date, review networks, and ratings. By default, the time filter will begin with the Last 30 Days.
You can print the dashboard by clicking the Print button to the right of the filter options.
The Sentiment Trends graph displays the percentage of positive, negative, or neutral keywords within all your online reviews. On the Y-axis is percentage. On the X-axis is time.
Trends are calculated by taking into account the positive, negative, or neutral keywords mentioned in your reviews and dividing them by the total mentions of that word.
To investigate a spike, use the Custom Dates filter to analyze a specific time frame.
The Top Keywords Mentioned graph shows the five keywords with the most mentions over the time period selected in the filters. On the Y-axis is the number of mentions. On the X-axis is time. Each colored line represents a keyword. This graph will show spikes in mentions of your top keywords, so that you can track trends in relation to the terms your consumers are using more frequently when describing your services, business, or community online.
Pending available data, a word cloud will display up to 100 clickable keywords. Within the word cloud, keywords size is determined by the frequency with which they appear in online reviews. This means that a keyword will appear larger the more often it is mentioned. If a positive sentiment is associated with a keyword, it will display in green. A word with a negative sentiment will be displayed in red. Language that includes neither a positive or negative keyword is considered neutral and will be displayed in gray. Click a keyword for a deeper analysis of it, including the top five positively and negatively used adjectives associated with it. A graph will outline positive and negative mentions of the keyword over time. Below, you will see a list of all reviews in which the keyword is mentioned. The word will be highlighted in red, green, or gray within the review to show the sentiment assigned to the word.
The grid view on the Sentiment page will give a breakdown of the same keywords that are shown in the Word Cloud. It is default ordered by the total number of mentions that particular keyword has received but can be re-sorted by clicking any column header. You can also analyze the number of times your keywords were mentioned by percentage, and with which sentiment they appeared in your reviews. At the top of the grid, you can change the number of keywords displayed (10, 25, or 100) as well as export the grid into a CSV file.
